Zora Neil Hurston uses the motif of "Time" to express an opinion that with unlimited exposure over time things and actions tend to lose their exciting or unusual qualities. Additionally, the motif is used to highlight the pursuit of dreams, and the two possible outcomes, achievement and disappointment.
Time is a unique motif to look at, but you have valid points! Personally, I would focus on either your first reason or the second, not both. There is definitely enough evidence to back up either of those themes.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to be that guy but I think there should be a comma after time, before things.
ReplyDeleteMat's the guy, but I will be the back up guy. I think you should be more specific when you just say: things. Things can be anything and I just thought of weird things it could be....
ReplyDeleteImmaculate thesis money. I think time is a tricky motif because it always changes, whereas traditionally motifs change due to a specific story.
